Lincoln City's squad is finally getting bolstered after the news that James Wilson will be offered his first professional contract. The young striker will be hoping to break the curse of youth strikers that has plagued the club in recent years after signing the one year deal.
Over the years the youth team strikers have rarely produced goals. Oliver Ryan, Nathan Adams, Andy Hutchinson, Lenell John-Lewis and several others have tried and failed to hit the net on a regular basis for the first team, strange given that some of them had excellent records at all other levels of the club.
The latest to try his luck will be James Wilson, who today signed his first professional contract, the only second year scholar to be offered a new deal.
