Oxford defender Anthony Tonkin is looking for revenge after he scored one of two own goals to give the Imps a victory over the U's in March. Tonkin spent time on trial at Lincoln in 2008 and hopes that his new side can end their home season on a high.

Oxford, managed by former City man Chris Wilder, have had a decent first season in the League. They've done enough to avoid relegation comfortably, whilst not being good enough to mount a Playoff charge. They made the trip to Sincil Bank at the beginning of March and City controlled most of the game, although it was the visitors who created more chances. City won the game through two own goals, once of which was scored by Anthony Tonkin, a former trialist at Lincoln. He rejected the chance to join Lincoln in 2008 to go to Forest Green, remaining in the south.

He has come out in the Oxford Mail and said he aims for this season to end on a high.

“It’s the last home game so we want to thank the fans really, they’ve been fantastic this season. Even the last two weeks when it’s been unlikely that we’ll get in the play-offs, they still turned out in huge numbers – and I think tomorrow will be no different. Lincoln will give their all, and we’ll be looking to finish the season at home with a win because, as well as we’ve played in the last four games, it’s disappointing that we haven’t got that win.”

Lincoln have only won once since beating Oxford, losing 7 of the last 9 games, however, Oxford aren't in brilliant form themselves, currently on a winless run of five games and only three wins in twelve. Their home form isn't fantastic either, with only four other teams in the division (including Lincoln) losing more on their own turf than Oxford. 

“I got an own goal that night so it would be nice to put that right,” Tonkin reflected on his own goal in the 3-1 Lincoln win. “We were disappointed not to get anything from that game. Sloppy mistakes cost us and we really should have got at least a draw. We just want to finish as high as we can, and a couple of wins would be brilliant, that would keep us in the top half of the table.”

Lincoln could end Saturday in the relegation zone, although it would take failing to beat Oxford and both Northampton and Barnet beating in-form promotion chasing teams. However, the Imps have a good recent record at the Kassam Stadium, winning both of the last two meetings, not even conceding there in the last three. One of those wins as a 1-0 win where Lincoln hit the woodwork twice and had five goals disallowed for various reasons.

City haven't lost to Oxford since the opening day of the 2003/4 season.
