Lincoln City's defeat Bury has been compounded with all of the bottom before before play began winning. It means that combined with Northampton's draw against Rotherham, Lincoln were the only team in the bottom five to pick up nothing and a defeat to Cheltenham could be enough to see us move into the drop zone with two games to go.
With Barnet and Burton both facing tricky trips to Kent and Hampshire respectively, City fans would have been optimistic that our 1-0 defeat at Bury wouldn't have been too costly but Barnet won 4-2 at Gillingham and Burton won at Aldershot to move above the Imps in the table.
Only Northampton sit between the Imps and Barnet in the drop zone and with City's incredibly inferior goal difference, the Imps will enter the drop zone on Monday if they lose to Cheltenham, a Barnet victory over Oxford and Northampton winning at Stockport will see the Imps move into the drop zone.
One thing we shouldn't do is take Cheltenham lightly, they are above us in the table afterall and despite us beating them in January, Cheltenham had numerous opportunities to equalise throughout the game.
Perhaps its better they go against us today rather than at the very end of the season. At least our destiny is in our hands still. We would be very unfortunate to get another set of results against us like todays are.
We need the fans to turn out in force on Monday for what is effectively our biggest game since the play-off defeat against Bristol Rovers back in 2007!

We don't need that much to go against us. Unless we get at least 1 point from the next 3 games, Barnet and Northampton only need one win to put us down.
With a record of only 1 point from the last 7 games, it doesn't feel like it is in our hands; we are playing too badly for that. It is in the hands of Barnet and Northampton.
For one thing, our goal difference is so bad that 50 points is only really 49 points; and Oxford got relegated with that number. So even if we win against Cheltenham there is still a good chance of going down, but I think we should just scrape it.
