With so few games left in the season, the fans of Lincoln City, Northampton Town and Burton Albion will have a keen on events in Kent on Saturday afternoon as Barnet head to Gillingham. Gillingham winning would leave Barnet as the heavy favourites to return to the non-league.

The Imps and Northampton have already played this weekend, City losing at Bury whereas Northampton gained an exceptionally late equaliser at home to Rotherham. The latter result now means that regardless of what they do on Saturday, Barnet will end Saturday in the relegation zone.

They travel to Gillingham, who themselves will be just as desperate for the points as they aim to cement a place in the Playoffs. They have only lost four times at home this season, whereas Barnet have only won three on the road. Lincoln in particular are very keen on Gillingham winning as it means that City would only need one point to force Barnet into winning all three games to go above City, and three of Barnet's remaining games are against promotion chasers, including travelling to Accrington Stanley, the team with the second best home record in the division.

If Barnet lose the game if will leave them three matches to make up four points on Northampton and Burton and six on the Imps. Although seven sides are within seven points of Barnet, City, the Cobblers and Burton are considered the targets.

Lincoln's remaining three games are against Cheltenham, Oxford and Aldershot, three sides who City have already gained seven points from this season.

Sad state of affairs when we are reliant on Barnet losing BUT we need this as a Barnet win leaves wus well in the mire

Definitely, having said that, I'm reasonably confident of getting at least three points from our last three games.....we already beat Cheltenham at their place and bossed most of the game. We may have only beaten Oxford because of the own goals but let's not forget we battered them that night and their goal came from a Carson mistake....

...and not to forget that we came from 2-0 down at Aldershot to claim something.

Infact, I hope it doesn't come down to the last game because you just know Alex Rodman will score the winning goal, meaning an ex-Lincoln United player relegates City.
