Crawley secure promotion to Football League

The inevitable has happened as Crawley finally secured their promotion to the Football League. The Sussex side will make their debut season in the League next season after a 3-0 win at Tamworth on Saturday afternoon.

Crawley are undefeated in the Blue Square Premier this calendar year and although many will point to the fact they've spent their way to promotion, money doesn't guarantee success and to this run to secure promotion is a credit to the team and as much as I hate to say it, Steve Evans.

The former Boston manager has joined a very rarely club of managers to have won the top tier of non-League twice, although the first was deemed highly controversial after financial irregularities at Boston United.

They have become the first professional side to confirm that they will be in a new division this season.
