BREAKING NEWS - Steve Tilson sacked, Sutton rejoins

Steve Tilson has left Lincoln City after six months in charge. The Imps board unanimously agreed to sack Tilson and Chris Sutton has agreed to return to the city to take temporary charge of the site. Sutton is expected to be in charge in time for City's weekend trip to Torquay United.

Chris Sutton left Sincil Bank in September after exactly 12 months in charge. It was an unsuccessful year in terms of results and most were wanting Sutton to leave, with the exception of the Lincoln City Board. All the board members said at the time that they were desperate for Sutton to stay, but the former Blackburn and Norwich striker couldn't be persuaded otherwise.

Steve Tilson was chosen as his replacement and although the Imps aren't in brilliant form, it is likely that he has been successful in keeping Lincoln City up. Despite initially struggling to get results, a 5 match winning run in January and February turned the season around, taking the Imps from bottom of the table to outsiders for the Playoffs, was the turning point, although the latter of those scenarios has become far less likely.

It was believed that Tilson was going to be manager for years to come, however, in an exclusive interview with theimps.ka, Bob Dorrian revealed that Tilson will be relieved of his duties in the morning and Chris Sutton will be taking charge of the team for remainder of the season.

"The club will be parting company with Steve Tilson and Paul Brush on Friday morning. It is regretable as we had hoped that Tilson and Brush would be here for several years, however, the recent 6-0 home defeat to Rotherham is expected to see attendances decline by up to 150 people on average over the next few home games," Dorrian told us. "We would like to thank Tilson and Brush for their efforts and we wish them the best for the future."

Sutton is expected to be confirmed as Lincoln's new manager on Friday afternoon, with his return coming in the weekend's game at Torquay.

Now if you had said Tilly & Brush had resigned with immediate effect because the budget they're getting in the summer is pi$$ poor due to turning down investment left right and centre ..... then we may have believed you?

I think the only one in the stands would be that "Lincoln Fan" who started the "Tilson out thread"

I've changed the article from the original one where we were going to sack Tilson because Sutton said he wanted to come back.

Good Luck, Mr Gorsky

Be careful what you wish for!
TBH nothing would surprise at Lincoln these days April 1st or not.

Here we go again!
Will we ever get the right man?

More credible than the 'Torpet back' thread on vitals and 'Broughton back' on the OS... Oh, hang on a minute...
