Notts County and Burton Albion may still have plenty of games in hand, but both continue to lose and both could easily be relegated this season. Notts have had a difficult first year in League One, whereas Burton could be making the fastest ever return to the Blue Square Premier.

Burton Albion have waited more than 50 years for League football but now could find themselves as the team that breaks that record for the fastest ever return to the non-League. No team has ever been relegated within their first two seasons of being in the Football League, but Burton could be set to break that trend. A heavy 3-0 defeat on Sunday afternoon to Oxford leaves them just two points above the drop zone and whilst they will highlight that they still have games in hand, their games in hand are against very tricky opponents and there's no guarantee they'll win any of them.

Notts County also have a lot of games in hand in League One and they also have a two point gap over the relegation zone, however, you wouldn't bet against them becoming the first team since Rushden in 2004 to be relegated just twelve months after winning the fourth tier. They lost 3-0 at Huddersfield on Sunday afternoon.

Meanwhile, despite a 6-0 defeat to Rotherham, the weekend hasn't been too damaging to City. The Imps are still 17th, everyone below them and the drop zone, with the exception of Hereford, failed to win at the weekend. Despite the gap between City and the bottom two shrinking to eleven points, there are a lot more worried teams that City with regards to relegation.

Chesterfield continue to dominate the division and could secure promotion as early as April 9th if results go their way. One division below and Crawley's impressive winning run came to an end with a draw at Gateshead.. Their lead is down to ten points over MK Dons, but with three games in hand, you'd be hard pushed to find someone who would be on them winning the division. All the Playoff teams who played won, with the exception of a Luton side who lost at Southport.

Crawley drew 0-0 at Gateshead.
Paragraph 4 is spot on, people do like to panic dont they?
Yes it was a truly awful performance but I wonder if Tilson pick some of the players to show the board how weak the squad is and that was all he could afford to get in.
Granted I want my money back and an apology!!!

Well it wont be the cods despite what George Kerr said on look hull the other day!!!
I reckon it will be 2012/13 at the earliest before we are challenging for promotion unless something dramatic happens.

Grimsby are a classic example of why teams don't come back up. They went down and thought it'd be @#$%& easy to come straight back up because they thought the football was the same level as Sunday League. If we ever go down, it'd be at least 3/4 years since we came back up....if at all.

I think Carlisle were the last side to come straight back up and that was in 2005....since then the best was Torquay's two years, Oxford was four and without being bothered to check, I don't think anyone else has come back up in the last few years.

It's not like when we were down there and we were pretty much the only professional team.......other than sides coming up from the BS North and South, you'll struggle to find someone who is part time in the Blue Square Premier.

The funny thing is that they've been in the Blue Square for nearly a year now and some of their fans still think that they're miles better than anything down there.

There are a lot of good teams at the top of the Blue Square and I think Crawley will have a similar year to what Stevenage are doing.
