Celtic's Hutchinson open to permanent City deal

Ben Hutchinson has opened the door to a permanent move to Lincoln in the summer. The loanee has been far from impressive this season and admits that his future is very much up in the air.

Hutchinson joined Lincoln the summer but has scored 4 goals in 26 appearances for the club, twenty of which have been starts, bringing his career total up to a rather unimpressive just 8 goals in 66 appearances for Lincoln, Celtic, Swindon, Middlesbrough and Dundee. Despite being a regular under Chris Sutton, the fact his loan goal came on November 20th saw him dropped and he hasn't regained his place ever since, so much to the point where Tilson tried to send him back to Celtic.....but Neil Lennon refused. It all leaves Hutchinson's career in question.

"I don't stop thinking about my future," Hutchinson told the Echo. "I don't know what's going to happen at the end of the season because I'm in limbo. I'm going to keep my ear to the ground and keep my head down first and foremost. If Lincoln want to take me on then I'd be happy to stay – I've just got to make the most of what I'm doing now. I've not had one chat with Neil Lennon and I don't expect to hear from Celtic, to be honest, because I've not heard from them before."

The coaching staff have however noticed an improved attitude in Hutchinson, whom was very much under scrutiny for alledged comments made in the 2-0 home defeat to Northampton back in November. Hutchinson did score for the reserves against Leeds yesterday and Lincoln coach Scott Lindsay was full of praise for him.

"Ben's had a really good attitude in training," said Lindsey. "He realises the two lads who are playing in the first-team (Grimes and Facey) are doing really well at the moment and it's a case of biding his time. He did himself a lot of favours yesterday by having a good attitude and working hard, scoring a great goal and converting the penalty. He will get his chance eventually because we've got games coming thick and fast."

i think players such as hutch need different clauses in their contracts based on performance. often players will play their heart out when on loan deals only for them to just give up almost when a deal is made permanent

im suprised he's said this considering all thats gone on this season under sutton
