Ross County avoid Chris Sutton

Former Lincoln City manager Chris Sutton has failed to be appointed manager of Ross County. Despite being favourably mentioned by the Ross County chairman, the Scottish club have decided not to go with Sutton and have instead appointed Jimmy Calderwood.

Sutton left the Imps in September 2010 and hasn't been able to secure a new job since. His record of just 14 wins from 51 matches in charge of the Imps would more than likely be the main reason.

It was revealed that Sutton had applied for the Ross County job, but fortunately the Scottish club have done the sensible thing and gone for someone who isn't Sutton. That man is Jimmy Calderwood, the former Kilmarnock, Nijmegen and Aberdeen manager.

Ross chairman Roy McGregor stated "This has been one of the toughest weeks I can remember in my long involvement with Ross County.  However, I am absolutely delighted that Jimmy has agreed to join us and has been able and very willing to get to work straight away," he told Ross County's official website.
