Anderson's Grimsby move called off

Grimsby manager Neil Woods has confirmed that the Mariners will not be taking Joe Anderson on loan. The Imps defender has been out of the first team picture for sometime and has been linked with both Grimsby and Eastbourne, but neither move has come to anything.

Grimsby were hopeful to sign Anderson on loan to cover the injury of Lee Ridley, however, the ex-Imp has now recovered from injury and Bradley Wood will now be the man who covers Ridley. Anderson had been training with the Mariners this week, but will now return to Sincil Bank. Woods confirmed the decision not to sign Anderson on loan on Grimsby's website.

His contract expires at the end of the season and it is exceedingly likely that he will not be offered a new contract.
