Lincoln City followed up their win over Stockport with an away win at Cheltenham, the first time we haven't lost at Whaddon Road in seven attempts. The victory was enough to move the Imps up to 22nd and out of the relegation zone, with the goals coming from Hunt and O'Keefe.

The Imps started the game well with Ashley Grimes looping a header from a Kelly cross onto the bar. Grimes hit a 20 yard free kick a few minutes later before Facey headed over a McCallum cross in what was an excellent start for the Imps. The brilliant start paid dividends a few minuts later as McCallum's header found Danny Hone, he found Grimes who's shot hit the post and rebounded to Hunt, the on loan defender tapping in to give City a well deserved lead.

The Imps were enjoying a possession rate of 67% and it should have been two-nil when Delroy was played through, only to be denied at the very last minute. Facey hit a long ranger wide but it wasn't long before a deserved 2-0 lead was finally gained. The ball found it's way to Josh O'Keefe and he ran unchallenged, he tried his luck from distance and his shot just dipped in time to give the Imps a 2-0 lead that they were well work.

Cheltenham finally came into the game in the 28th minute as their first shot went well wide from Lowe. It wasn't long before Cheltenham's second attempt on goal gained their goal. A cross was Low on the right was met by the head of Frankie Artus and he headed beyond Carson and into the net. Artus almost drew Cheltenham level within a minute, but his effort was comfortably gathered by Carson.

The teams went into the half time interval level.

Kerr was booked for a harsh challenge on Goulding early on in the half before an Imps counter attack came very close to giving City a two goal advantage. McCallum played the ball down the left to Grimes, he cut inside and shot. The ball deflected off of Brown in towards the net, it was appearing to sail in before Andrew hacked it clear. The linesman kept his flag firmly down.

City were given a very big let off just afterwards as a Thomas effort hit the woodwork before rebounding to Goulding, who somehow managed to miss the open goal from less than 6 yards out. City looked for an immediate response and seemed to have got it when a McCallum free kick was bundled in by Grimes, although it was disallowed for a blatent handball and the striker was yellow carded for his troubles.

McCallum shot over form 25 yards before Andrew headed a cross wide for the visitors. Cheltenham were enjoying plenty of possession but weren't doing a lot with it as Carson was largely a spectator. Neither side could manage another noteworthy chance before the end of the game and the Imps held out for their first back to back away wins in nearly two years.
