Former Lincoln City striker Adrian Patulea has had his contract at Leyton Orient terminated by mutual agreement. Patulea never had the same impact at Orient that he had at Sincil Bank and is now searching for a new club.
Patulea entered the English game back in 2008, playing for a few non-League sides before turning up at Sincil Bank for a trial that made national headlines. Patulea ran around the training ground with his wife on his back in an attempt to get a deal and scored for fun in the 2008/9 pre-season, eventually earning a one year contract following an issue with Petrolul, whom he was contracted to (despite claiming he had no club at that time).
He ended the 2008/9 season as leading goalscorer but a major public fall out with Peter Jackson saw him leave for Leyton Orient at the end of that season. He never established himself as a first teamer in E10 though as was loaned out to Hayes and Yeading, scoring and getting sent off on his debut for them.
Adrian has now been allowed to find a new club following on from his deal being terminated by mutual consent.
To be fair I'd be surprised if he came back here. I have a friend whom most of you are aware of that is friends with the Patulea family, and let's put it this way, Patulea didn't leave this club on good terms.
He'll probably end up somewhere like Barnet, they seem to sign a lot of released Orient players.
