Lincoln City's third Saturday in a row out of League action saw them have to watch as the teams around them gained decent results. City slipped down to 22nd and only out of the relegation because of a single goal, but vitally the Imps go have two games in hand on some teams around them.

Izale McLeod made a decent return to League Two. Several sides around the division had rejected him before Barnet took the punt and he scored twice as Barnet beat Accrington 2-0. That result pulls them level on points with Lincoln but City are one goal better off in terms of goal difference. Both would have been clear of the drop zone had Stockport not equalise twice to eventually draw 3-3 at home with Crewe.

The big winners at the bottom were Morecambe, who pulled off a shock win over Port Vale, a team who were top before kick off. Morecambe would have gone second bottom with defeat. Hereford on the other hand remain bottom and are now four points adrift after an 8th minute goal won the game for Bradford City.

Southend were the only team within reasonable distance that lost, going down 3-1 at Burton. Aldershot, Lincoln's opponents next Saturday, lost 1-0 at Rotherham to fall to 17th.

Elsewhere in the division Chesterfield went top with a 1-0 win over Torquay, Josh Gowling scored for Gillingham as they won 4-2 at Macclesfield, Shrewsbury and Cheltenham drew 1-1, Northampton won 1-0 at Stevenage and Wycombe ended Bury's impressive away form.

It all means that Lincoln slip to 22nd but do have games in hand on everyone around them, with the exception of Southend, whom have also only played 18 games. If the game at Aldershot does ahead next Saturday, it will be the first time Lincoln will have played a League game since November 23rd and the first away game in the League since November 13th, with only an FA Cup game at Hereford filling the time. Infact, City don't play in the League at Sincil Bank against until December 26th, more than a month after the last home game City have had.

The table is tight at the bottom with 17th to 23rd separated by just 3 points, as well as only 9 points separating 23rd placed Barnet and 7th placed Torquay.
