Fans of Lincoln City and Hereford United will be keeping a keen eye on ball number 59 when the draw is made for the third round on Sunday evening. The teams will replay on Tuesday 10th and both will know the prize that will await.
Lincoln City have many potential local derbies available in the third round. Doncaster Rovers are number 15th, Nottingham Forest are 29, Scunthorpe are 34 and Sheffield United are 35, however, most people will be hoping for a big draw against one of the four Champions League teams. Arsenal are ball 1, Chelsea are 11, Manchester United are 24 and Tottenham are 39.
The third round consists of the 20 Premier teams and the 24 Championship sides. They will be joined by the six League One sides that have qualified, five teams from League Two and two non-League teams, as well as the winners of seven re-arranged or replayed second round ties, including Lincoln vs Hereford.
Lincoln will be hoping to guarantee their place in the third round for the second year running, last year being drawn at Bolton, whom are ball 7 in the draw. However, there is no guarantee that a third round game will come against a big club. Out of all of the teams in the draw (including those yet to confirm places, City are currently above six of them. Last season's draw saw City enter the last six teams waiting for the draw, included were Bolton, Manchester United and Leeds, as well as Accrington Stanley and Barnet.
The draw will take place on Sunday evening at 6pm.
