Lincoln City had an afternoon of firsts at Morecambe. In City's first visit to Morecambe's Globe Arena, Ashley Grimes' first goal for the club secured City's first back to back win since January and the first come-from-behind victory on the road since January 2009. The 2-1 win moves City out of the drop zone.

The hosts were very quick out of the blocks with a Hunter header from a Rundle cross being saved by Anyon. The resultant corner saw Duffy hit a shot straight at Anyon before Brown tried his best from 25 yards after dispossessing Howell. A Phil Jevons shot was deflected behind former a corner and the resultant set piece saw Duffy shoot just wide. In the fifth minute the ball was played into the box and onto the head of Bentley, his downward header fell at the feet of Jevons and he slotted home to give the hosts a deserved lead.

City almost secured a very quick response as Jarrett and Grimes combined to play in Hutchinson, his backhell went to Howell and his low effort was cleared off of the line by Haining. City started coming into the game even more a Carayol sent a cross in, although it was held by Roche. Despite the Imps now having more of an input, it was still the hosts having the ajority of the play as they won several more corners, although none came to anything and the teams went into half time at 1-0 to the hosts.

With Steve Tilson's words still ringing in their ears, City emerged for the second half a different side, although Brown came close to making it 2-0 when he shot over frmo 25 yards. City took the ball down the other end and won two corners, the second of which was played short to Grimes, whom in turn played the ball back to Jarrett and his inswinging cross was met by the head of the unmarked Moses Swaibu, his header sailing past Roche in the goal.

It could have been a quick fire second as Grimes flicked on a ball for Hutchinson, only to then see the loanee waste the chance as his shot went well wide of the target, but it was much improved half by the Imps. The good start to the second half continued as hoyte won a corner and saw it eventually played into Grimes, the striker flicking it through the mass of legs and beyond Roche for his first goal in City colours.

The hosts were clearly shell shocked and were desperate to reclaim something in the game, but their two corners came to near enough nothing, but Swaibu was booked for a foul on the left that saw Morecambe hit a shot just wide of the target. Another Morecambe free kick was hit over by Jevons. Delroy Facey replaced Hutchinson for City.

Within a minute of coming on, Facey came agonisingly close to scoring his second goal for the Imps, seeing his cross-goal header come back off of the post before Kerr shot wide of the target. A horrid challenge on Howell saw Wilson booked but it was the end of Howell's game as he left the game on a stretcher. He was replaced by O'Keefe just as Spencer replaced Rundle for the hosts.

Neither side could score another goal and the Imps left Morecambe with 3 points for the first time since April 2008.
