Another game, another defeat. A single goal from Stevenage was enough to defeat a passionless City side who kept up the "go behind, stay behind" tradition under Chris Sutton. The Imps barely looked bothered throughout the entire afternoon, misplacing passes, rarely looking dangerous and generally not playing well,

Stevenage were almost gifted the opening goal within a minute as a Joe Anyon clearance was scuffed straight to Holroyd, the Stevenage debutant couldn't control the ball though and failed to get a shot in on goal. In what would be a rare shot for the Imps during the game, Hughton hit the side netting.

It wasn't a busy opening wto the game with onle a few corners here and there filling open quarter of an hour, with City enjoying slightly more more possession. O'Keefe hit over from close range before he was given a stiff talking to by the referee for a foul on Mousinho. A cross from Jarrett was cleared before Swaibu's header from a corner was cleared off of the line by Swaibu.

In a game where neither side looked like scoring, it was the visitors who took the lead out of nowhere. A long throw was played into the box and eventually fell to an unmarked Chris Holroyd, he belted it into the corner of the net to give Stevenage the lead. It was 8th time City have gone behind this season, City had lost in 6 of the other 7 occasions. 

Jarrett was booked just before half time.

Stevenage came close to doubling their lead when Darius Charles went a near pitch-length run before his through ball to Holroyd was intercepted at the last minute. It didn't take long for Sutton to change things as Carayol was replaced by McCallum.

John Ashton cleared a half-hearted City chance over the bar before Anderson was booked in the 70th minute of a slow half. Griffin sliced a shot wide of the target from close range. Broughton came on for Clapham but City were still not forcing many chances, that despite several free kicks on the edge of the box.

Hutchinson headed a shot wide but that was as good as it got for the Imps who suffered to their 7th defeat of the season and the 12th in the last 20 games.

It was so disappointing I just had to boo! Sorry to all those that do not believe in booing!

Don't worry G/I, I'm firmly of the believe that you pay your money, so you have the right to react however you want.....for example, if you went to the cinema and the film you watched was @#$%&, you wouldn't call it good just to make other people in the screen feel good.
