Old Trafford favourite to host League Two final

Manchester United's Old Trafford table is being touted as the favourite to host the League Two Playoff Final at the end of the season. With the Champions League Final being at Wembley this year, the Football League have had to look for alternative venues for the finals for League One and Two.

The Football League are trying their best to get the Championship Playoff Final played at Wembley, but there is no chance that any Playoff Final below that level will be at the English national stadium. The Blue Square Premier Division have already confirmed that their Playoff Final will be hosted at the City of Manchester Stadium, and according to an article in the Telegraph newspaper the finals for League One and Two will more than likely be at Old Trafford.

It will be the first time since the 2005/6 that League Two's Playoff Final won't be at Wembley, ever since then Bristol Rovers, Stockport County, Gillingham and Dagenham & Redbridge have all experienced League Two joy at Wembley.

Not that any of this is likely to be relevant to City.
