Former Lincoln City striker Gary Taylor-Fletcher made history for Blackpool today after scoring the Tangerines' first ever goal in the Premiership against Wigan today. Taylor-Fletcher's career was recused by Keith Alexander in 2003 and he has since go on to make history for Lincoln, Huddersfield and now Blackpool.

Gary Fletcher, as he was known then, was recused from the reserves of Leyton Orient by Keith Alexander in 2003. The striker had played for Alexander at Northwich Victoria and the move to Sincil Bank changed Taylor-Fletcher's career forever. He was the club's leading scorer in 2003/4 before then starting the 2004/5 season with a storm.

He scored in the first five games of the 2004/5, a post-war record for the Imps, but that season ended with Taylor-Fletcher being surprisingly relegated. There were rumours that he had been tapped up by Peter Jackson at Huddersfield and that Keith had found out, and that's why he was released. These rumours were fueled even more when Taylor-Fletcher signed for Huddersfield soon after.

During his time at Huddersfield he scored the 500,000th Football League goal and scored at Chelsea for Huddersfield. He then joined Blackpool in 2007 and has been there ever since. He scored in their Playoff Final victory over Cardiff and today scored their first goal in their first ever Premiership season.

Not bad for someone who was once voted as Leyton Orient's worst ever player.
