Tamworth sign former Imp

Tamworth have announced the signing of former Lincoln City man Stefan Oakes. The midfielder left City last season after he never really got going. He had trials at both Mansfield and Halesowen during the summer,

Oakes was one of Peter Jackson's "magnificant seven" who joined in the summer of 2008. He started his City career well with an excellent performance at Derby in the Carling Cup, but injuries and inconsistent performances saw him dropped and told by Peter Jackson that he had no future at the club. He did enjoy a small spell in the first team under Sutton, but even Sutton admitted that sometimes talent isn't everything.

He was released towards the end of last season and had subsequent trials at Mansfield and Halesowen before signing for Tamworth.

Quite right Nathan, he never really got going. But never struck me as a bad bloke so all the best to him. Lets hope he gets some more carrots pealed over there.
