Mansfield Town now have four ex-Imps playing for them after completing the signing of Tyrone Thompson. The midfielder played for the Imps during the 2002/3 season and joins Alan Marriott, Kevin Sandwith and Adam Smith at Field Mill, all of whom have played for the Imps.

Thompson joined the Imps on loan in the 2002/3 season from Sheffield United but and he played three times for the Imps, two of which came in the LDV Vans Trophy games against York City and Shrewsbury Town. He went on to play for Doncaster Rovers, Huddersfield Town, Scarborough, Halifax and Crawley and Torquay United.

He joins Alan Marriott, Adam Smith and Kevin Sandwith at Field Mill, he even played with Marriott in a game against Bury for Lincoln (Paul Pettinger had been in goal for the LDV games).

He was a bit like Asamoah, very quick but very little end product.

Good Luck, Mr Gorsky
