The 2009/10 season was a frustrating time to be an Imp. Finishing 20th in the League and rarely troubling the top of the table, it was a long 9 months following the Imps. Despite going to all games, I didn't go videos for most away games.

Accrington Stanley were the first team to host the Imps during the 2009/10 season. Having never lost to Accrington, Lincoln fans were in confident mood that they could make it two wins from their opening two League games.

Things don't go quite according to plan as there is a downfall both on and off of the pitch.

It's all in good fun.

The third away of the season (I didn't do a Bradford video) turned out to be Peter Jackson's last League game as Lincoln manager.

After a mixed start of 2 wins and 2 defeats to the season, the last thing that the Imps needed was a mauling by the eventually promoted Essex side.

Fun it certainly wasn't.

The first away game post-Jackson happens to fall on my 25th birthday, something the other people travelling down on the coach are only happy to remind me about.

It's the second away game in a row against a side who would eventually go on to win promotion.

3 defeats from 3, should I stop filming?

City travelled to a Bury side whom, at the end of September, had yet to score a home goal.......I wonder what's going to happen.

It's yet another away game against a team who looked like getting promotion for the majority of the season.

4 defeats from 4, maybe my camera is an unlucky omen?

Having not taken my camera to Northampton, my first filmed game of the Chris Sutton era was an FA Cup game at Blue Square North's Telford.

It was an eventful day against the non-Leaguers, but it would be City would eventually go on to secure victory and a second round tie at Northwich Victoria.

This was the first away win I had filmed since March 2009.

Despite still struggling in the League, a 3-1 win at Northwich in the cup saw City draw away at Bolton and over 3,000 Imps made the trip the Reebok.

A relatively even first half isn't mirrored in the second half as Moses Swaibu scores an own goal, the first of Bolton's four.

Lincoln's first ever trip to Burton's Pirelli Stadium was practically over after 54 seconds. Despite City dominating the game, they couldn't find an equaliser following on from the first minute lead.

Due to sitting in the seated section, I don't see many of the fellow Imps and I even somehow manage to get seated in the Burton end.

I have, at this point, only filmed League defeats so far this season.

City make the short trip to Blundell Park in what turns out to be the first League game that I record that we don't lose.

The 2-2 draw meant that Grimsby broke their own club record for games without a win.

It is also the last time that Adam Watts played for the Imps during the 2009/10.

Former Lincoln manager Keith Alexander died in March 2010. Having been the inspiration for this site and a lot of the Lincoln fans, there was understandable despair in the away end at Rochdale.

Apologies about the music being too loud for what some people are saying.

RIP Keith.

Finally, a League win that I record. New signing Davide Somma proves his level of ability to everyone in the Imps' longest trip of the season.

It's far from an easy game though as the Imps struggle to hold onto their lead going into the last 10 minutes.

There's also nothing quite like a hard, wooden seat after sitting on a coach for six hours.

I've never personally seen us win at Cheltenham, or even get a point. That run continues as City put in a relatively poor performance, with a second half goal from the home side securing the win.

Luckily by this point the Imps are already effectively safe from the drop, although Grimsby's recent good form doesn't make that a certainty.

The final away game of the season comes at Aldershot's Recreation Ground. The home side secure a Playoff place this afternoon, that despite what would turn out to be Somma's last goal for the Imps.

Fans also reflect on the season that was, whilst dressed in fancy dress.

What a fun season this wasn't.

In a season that saw relegation battles, few away wins and even the death of a club legend, it is hard to imagine many clips for a "Best of" compilation, but we manage it without a problem.
