Chris Sutton has said in an interview with the BBC that he hopes to have a new striker at the club by Monday, although he has admitted that it looks likely that we'll have to wait a bit longer. City have just four strikers at the club, although Sutton has already told Chris Fagan that he's free to leave the club.

The only new striker so far is Drewe Broughton. He had a rather unsuccessful loan spell at City last season, but obviously did enough to convince Sutton to bring him in permanently. He failed to score in his 8 loan games, although he should fit in with Chris Fagan, Andy Hutchinson and Nathan Adams, all of whom have had spells in the team and never really looked like being good enough to be a first team regular.

"I'd like to bring another one in before Monday although it looks unlikely to happen," he told the BBC. "But we'll be trying through the loan market as well. We want options and players who can score goals, excite the fans and more importantly win games."

City have been linked with several new strikers, but with Somma staying at Leeds and Purcell looking likely to join Hereford, the Imps have been forced to look towards Barnet's John O'Flynn, as well as Leon Constantine and Alan Connell.

Connell has a habit of scoring past the Imps, having found the net against City for Bournemouth, Torquay and Hereford, whereas Constantine was the striker that turned Southend from a team who struggled against the drop into a team that got promoted (then Freddy Eastwood came along and took all the credit).

I worry, as i dont think we will get O'Flynn and think we could get Conell, Conell isnt a bad squad player but i cant see him scoring more than 10 goals.

I don't think the strikers will score 10 between them, let alone 10 each.

Past worrying lads I'm 37 what will be will be.
Used to panic when weren't arrriving.
There are still LOADS of players looking for a club and of the lot of decent players too.
I shall to go all the home games its the day I see my mates for a few beers and a catch up as well as a game of football.
Yes I'm peeved when we lose or play badly.
Lincoln arent the bee all and end all of life as they were 10-15 years ago.
I still love them and they want to do well but I have other bigger and better things to worry about now.
It would be great to have the squad ready by Monday as Sutton had wanted but life isnt like is it?
As long as it is ready by the Celtic ( a month away) that'll fine by me.

Here we go again!
