Access work finally starts

After years of it being discussed, the access work from South Park to Sincil Bank will finally commence this summer. The club have been in negotiations with various entities, mainly the council and the fire service about developing the area around Sincil Bank for many years.

A few years ago the parking and access to Sincil Bank wasn't a major issue. The majority of fans would parking on South Park common, but that closed the majority in 2007 and the streets surrounding Sincil Bank became clogged up with cars, making access to the stadium very difficult.

The club have talked on several occasions about redeveloping the stadium in the future and the access issues are the first step in the redevelopment. The club have also often stated that they feel Sincil Bank is more than capable of adequately supporting at least League One Football.

Speaking to Radio Lincolnshire, departing Chairman Steff Wright said ""We've got contractors signed up to do the access work over the summer. Hopefully that will be done by the start of next season. Things are progressing at the club and they will continue to progress in future."
