Imps confirm first new signing

The Imps have confirmed the first new player for next season after Josh O'Keefe penned a two year contract. With the Imps linked to several strikers in recent days, midfielder O'Keefe has become the first in what Sutton hopes will be a side capable of avoiding being anywhere near a relegation battle next season.

City have been linked with Drewe Broughton, Tadgh Purcell and Davide Somma in recent days, so the first signing being a midfielder has come as a bit of a surprise, but a welcome one as City have missed a permanent creative central midfielder since Lee Frecklington left the club in January last year.

Interesting it's the second pre-season in a row where the first player signed has been a former Blackburn Rovers trainee, following on from Jamie Clarke.

O'Keefe will officially join on July 1st.
