All the important dates for the 2010/11 season in the Football League have been released. Assuming that Lincoln City stay in the division, they will kick off next season on August 7th, ending it on May 7th. There will also be the return of New Years' Day fixtures and two cup competitions starting in August.
The new season will start on August 7th in League Two, and given that City have been at home on seven of the last ten opening days, it is likely the Imps will be on the road that day. The Carling Cup will start the following week and the Johnstone's Paint Trophy will begin in the week commencing August 30th.
There will be FOUR games over Christmas and New Year, including the return of New Years' Day football for what will be the first time in three years.
The season will then finish on May 7th.
