Newbury 40 (Tries: DamuDamu, Feeney, Radbourne, Styles. Cons: Feeney 4. Pens: Feeney 4.) 

Nottingham 37 (Tries: Wyles, Warnock, Stenhouse, Easter. Cons: Stenhouse 4. Pens: Stenhouse 3). 

Where do you start with a game like this which was settled in the 80th minute with Newbury taking the win although Nottingham did pick up two bonus points.  

Nottingham made the better start and raced into a 23-6 lead after 25 minutes with tries form centre Thomas Wyles and fly half Ali Warnock, Neil Stenhouse converted both and kicked three penalty goals whilst Blair Feeney got the home side off the mark with a couple of penalty goals. 

Newbury flanker Isoa DamuDamu on his return to the side got a try on 27 minutes, Feeney converted and kicked another penalty gaol to get the home side to within seven points of Nottingham

In the second half Feeney kicked an early penalty goal went over for a try on 55 minutes, which he converted, and Newbury were in front 26-23. Back came Nottingham with a try three minutes later form Stenhouse which he also converted and Nottingham were 30-26 ahead.

On 63 minute Newbury regained the lead when second row Tom Radbourne went over and Feeney added the extras for 33-30. Nottingham must have though they had sneaked a win when on 77 minutes No 8 Mark Easter went over and Stenhouse converted and the four try bonus point was secured.

But on 80 minutes Newbury snatched the win with a try form flanker Matt Styles and Feeney again converted. Feeney and Stenhouse kicked 15 out of 16 kicks between them during the afternoon in an excellent display of goal kicking.

Plymouth Albion 28 (Tries: Fisilau, Sestaret, Hayes. Cons: Saumi 2. Pens: Saumi 3.) 

Bedford Blues 23 (Tries: Page, Strauss, Brady. Con: Harris. Pens: Harris 2.).

Bedford Blues lost for the first time this season going down to a defeat at Brickfields to Plymouth Albion.  

Nat Saumi kicked the home side into a 6-0 lead with penalties in the 4th and 11th minutes. Mark Harris got the Blues off the mark in the 16th minute but 10 minutes later Saumi made it 9-3 with his third penalty goal.

Bedford scored the games opening try on 32 minutes when No 8 Shaun Brady went in for a try and they got a second on 40 minutes when scrum half Alex Page scored and this time Harris converted for 15-9. In first half injury time Plymouth snatched the lead back with a try from second row Tom Hayes and Saumi converted for 16-15.

Six minutes into the second half and Bedford regained the lead with a try form flanker Nic Strauss but it only last eight minutes before home winger Nicolas Sestaret went in and Albion ere 21-20 ahead. In the 69th minute Harris kicked a penalty goal to give the home side the lead again.

Albion took the win on 80 minutes when centre Keni Fisilau went over the Bedford line and Saumi added the extras to send the Blues to their first defeat of the season.

Exeter Chiefs 47 (Tries: Kingdom 4, Staniforth, Baxter, Gabey. Cons: Yapp 6.) 

Sedgley Park 10 (Try: Oxley. Con: Jones. Pen: Jones.). 

Exeter Chief were comprehensive winners over Sedgley Park on Saturday running in seven tries in the process.  

They were 14-3 up in the opening 14 minutes with two tries form left wing Gary Kingdom, both converted by Tony Yapp whilst Phil Jones kicked a penalty goal for the visitors.

By half time they had secured the four try bonus point with further tries form full back Adam Staniforth and No 8 Richard Baxter and again Yapp added the extras for a 28-3 lead.

Eight minutes into the second half and Kingdom secured his hat trick. Park did manage to cross the home line when hooker Richard Oxley touched down in the 56th minute.

The Chiefs though got further tries form Mark Gabey on 68 minutes and then on 76 minutes Kingdom got his fourth of the afternoon to round of the win. Kingdom equalled the club record of four tries in a league match previously achieved by John Fabian and Simon Dovell.  

Otley 19 (Tries: Brown, Scully, Hyndman. Cons: Binns 2.) 

Pertemps Bees 22 (Tries: Baxter, Billig, Walsh, Cons: P Knight 2. Pen: P Knight.). 

Excellent and much needed win for the Pertemps Bees at Cross Green against an Otley side that have shown improved form of late.  

The visitors were first on the scoreboard when wing Nick Baxter touched down in the 5th minute for a 5-0 lead. Scrum half Paul Knight increased the lead to 8-0 in the 11th minute. Otley got off the mark in the 19th minute when scrum half Andy Brown went n for a try and Simon Binns added the extras in what was the final score of the half and the Bees went in one point ahead 8-7.

In the second half the Bees went further ahead when centre Adam Billig got a try on 46 minutes and Knight added the extras. They scored a third try in the 58th minute with fly half Tim Walsh going in and Knight was again on target to make it 22-7.

Just after the hour mark veteran scrum half Dave Scully got a try for the home side and Binns again converted. They got a third try on 68 minutes through centre Chris Hyndman to set up a tense finale but the Bees hung on and got four important points.

Earth Titans 25 (Tries: Holtby, Mitchell, Penalty try. Cons: Whitehead 2. Pens: Whitehead 2. ) 

Doncaster 19 (Try: Wood. Pens: Benson 4.). 

This Yorkshire derby went the way of Rotherham over Doncaster.   

Doncaster took a 6-0 lead with two Jon Benson penalties in the opening 12 minutes. Mike Whitehead got the home side off the mark with a 20th minute penalty goal. Whitehead and Benson exchanged penalty goals as Doncaster led 9-6.

Former Rotherham winger Michael Wood then went over for the games first try which Benson converted as the visitors extended their lead to 16-6. Benson then kicked a fourth penalty goal and Doncaster went into the half time break in control at 19-6.  

The Titans took just three minutes to open the scoring in the second half with former Leicester Tigers wing John Holtby going in for a try and Whitehead added the extras. They took the lead just before the hour mark with a penalty try which Whitehead converted for 20-19. They sealed the win in the 75th minute when centre Greg Mitchell went over for an unconverted try.

NEC Harlequins 50 (Tries: Sherriff, Easter, Williams, Monye, Greenwood. Cons: Mehrtens 4, Jarvis. Pens: Mehrtens 5.) 

Cornish Pirates 6 (Pens: Barlow 2.). 

Quins in front of a record crowd at the Stoop, 10,843, ran out winners with five tries in the final 21 minutes.

Quins were ahead 15-6 after 42 minutes with Andrew Mehrtens slotting over five penalty goals whilst Tom Barlow added a couple for the Pirates.  

They finally broke down the Pirates defence when flanker Luke Sherriff went over in the 59th minute and Mehrtens added the extras.

They ran in four more tries with the backs scoring three of them.

Coventry 26 (Tries: K Johnson, Protherough. Cons: Moore 2. Pens: Moore 4.) 

London Welsh 18 (Tries: Hannon, Cox. Con: Cholewa. Pens: Cholewa 2.). 

Coventry were home winners over London Welsh thanks to the kicking of James Moore, both sides scored a couple of tries but Moore added 16 points with the boot.  

Lee Cholewa gave the home side Welsh the lead with a 4th minute penalty goal. It stayed like that till the 23rd minute when hooker Rich Protherough went over the Welsh line and Moore added the extras and before half time added a penalty goal to see the home side go in 10-3 ahead.

The Welsh though were in front eight minutes into the second half with tries from prop Colm Hannon and No 8 Paul Cox and with Cholewa adding a conversion they were 15-10 ahead.    

Moore kicked three successive penalty goals to see the home side go 19-15 ahead. Cholewa made it a one point game with a 70th minute penalty goal. The home side sealed the win on 77 minutes when wing Kurt Johnson went in for a try and Moore converted to make it six out of six for the afternoon.
