CASH BOOST RECEIVED AT CLUB

Reading are £100,000 richer today thanks to former player Darius Henderson's £450,000 switch to Watford last week from League 1 side Gillingham.

The Royals had a sell on clause for the striker, who Reading sold for £25,000 back in January 2003.

Henderson impressed last season in which he was the star as Gillingham were relegated from the Championship on goal difference.

The striker was unlucky not to get his chance at Reading after a string of injuries left him and Manager Steve Coppell feeling a new start would be in the best interest's of both parties.

Henderson opened his account for the Hornets at the weekend as they were beaten 2-1 by Preston North End.
