Royals midfielder Steve Sidwell has been linked with a move away to fellow Championship side Wolves.

Yesterday's News of the World reported that Dave Jones Wolves could be interested as they look to eventually replace their captain, Paul Ince.

Wolves are need of some serious strengthening after a disappointing start to the Championship season, where they lie in 20th place with 3 points from their first 4 games.

It's not the first time that Sidwell's been linked with moves away from the Madejski Stadium, as Charlton, Birmingham City, West Ham, Celtic and Rangers have all shown interest in the past year or so.

But Sidwell signed a new improved 3 year deal in the summer which would have ended speculation about his future.

Sidwell signed for the Royals in January 2003 from Premiership Champions Arsenal after Reading beat off interest from Brighton and Hove Albion and Stoke City.

The ginger haired midfielder became an instant fans favourite, scoring 2 goals in his 2nd appearance as the Royals thrashed Burnley 5-2.

Sidwell played in the old Division 1 playoff's for the Royals against Wolves.

But it was his performances last season that caught the attention of so many clubs. He appeared to be 1 of a couple of players that were consistently playing well, and that made Sidwell come 1st in the 1871Royals Player of the Year award.

The question now is will Wolves make an offer and if so, will the Royals accept it?
