Graeme Murty should be available for selection after going off with the flu in Reading's win over Brighton on Saturday.

Whether Bobby Convey makes his first Royals start is still undecided. Steve Coppell may decide not to change a winning team. New summer signing Ibrahima Sonko should take a place on the Royals bench.

West Ham have Rufus Brevett suspended for this and the following two games after getting sent off in the draw at Leicester on Saturday.

Michael Carrick is unlikely to play with speculation linking him with a move away from West Ham.

Midfielders Don Hutchinson and Steve Lomas will also not feature in the game as they are both out with injuries. Reading may come up against former loan star Luke Chadwick who has moved to West Ham on a one year contract. 

Chadwick did not feature in Saturdays game and it is unclear with he will be included in the squad to face the Royals.

While West Ham managed a goalless draw with Leicester at the Walkers Stadium although they played a large percentage of the game with an extra man on the field after Dion Dublin was dismissed early on for retaliation.
