MATCH REPORT

The kick off of the game was delayed by 15 minutes due to the large demand of people wanting to buy tickets on the day of the game, in an apology from the club for the time it took to get people inside the stadium, they stated that on a usual matchdays around 1,000 people turn up on the day of the game to buy tickets. Whereas for the Manchester City game there was around 3,000.

A goal from central defender, Adie Williams gave Reading the lead after his shot was deflected past England International David James after just 11 minutes.

Though it was not long before City were back on level terms when a swift more was finished off by Jonathan Macken after Reading were guilty of making a number of mistakes in the build up to the goal.

Claudio Reyna then gave Manchester City the lead before the half time whistle.

After the break it was the same story with Reyna adding another and Antoine Sibierski finished off the rout with a clever free kick to beat Hahnemann.

The game saw the introduction of the new video screen to replace the old scoreboard and  very much like The Royals there seems to be more to come as graphics were kept to a minimum to see it come through its first test!

New signing Bobby Convey made an appearance as a second half substitute but was unable to make any real impact on the game, it will take time for the American International to settle in after just moving to England and fans cannot expect too much of the player to soon.
