Joe Gamble and Andre Boucaud have left the club after Steve Coppell has decided not to renew their contracts.The pair have struggled to break into the 1st team side and both have had loan spells away from the Madejski Stadium this season.

Irish midfield Joe Gamble has left Reading FC along with Andre Boucaud after Steve Coppell decided not to renew their contracts which were due to expire at the end of June.

Gamble has been on-loan at Conference side Barnet all season and became a fans favourite in North London while Boucaud spent 2 months on-loan at Barry Fry's Peterborough along with 2 trial's at relegated 1st Division side Walsall.

Gamble made a total of 13 appearances with Boucaud not playing once for the first team.

One reason why the pair have been limited so much is because of the quality the Royals possess in the middle. Gamble had to compete with the likes of Darren Caskey, Royals legend Phil Parkinson while Boucaud had Andy Hughes, Steve Sidwell, James Harper and Kevin Watson all ahead of him.

The Royals also have Simieon Howell on the books, who is highly rated at the Madejski Stadium by the Academy staff. He has represented England before at various Youth levels.
