Royals net Griffin Park friendly

Reading will play Steve Coppell's former side Brentford in a pre season friendly to take place at Griffin Park on Sunday,25th July to mark a celebration of the Bees stadium.The Royals will send a full strength side down the M4. New Page 1

Steve Coppell has agreed to take a full strength Reading side to Brentford on Sunday, 25th July for a centenary match to mark the Bees home, Griffin Park.

The Royals will send a full strength team which includes some ex Brentford players in Ivar Ingimarrson, Lloyd Owusu, Steve Sidwell and of course Royals manager Steve Coppell.

The last time the teams met in the league was in the promotion winning game back on the 20th April 2002 when Jamie Cureton bought Division 1 Football back to Berkshire.

The teams met in a pre season friendly last season, with the Royals losing 3-2 despite going into a 2 goal lead.

Tickets are £10 for adults, £5 for senior citizen's and £1 for Under 16's. Kick Off is 15:00pm.
