Darren Campbell has gone out on loan to Scottish ginats Celtic for a month. The player will go there for 'Work Experience' in an attempt to get him back to his best after a difficult season at the Reading Academy. It was tipped at the start of the season to be a good year for young Scottish right winger Darren Campbell. But after a difficult season, the youngster will join Martin O'Neill's Glasgow Celtic on a month's loan in order to restore some much needed confidence.

It is hoped that the loan spell at the Scottish giants will get him back to his best and put him in the running for a shot at the Royals first team next season. With the departure of Scott Murray and Paul Brooker unlikely to be signing for the Royals on a permanent basis, Campbell may find himself in the running for that position on the right hand side of midfield. Boss Steve Coppell says he has already identified the replacement to Murray, but will it be Campbell?

Campbell has made only 1 appearance for the Reading first team which was in the 3-0 win over Watford at Vicarage Road back last May. But his chances have been limited after former manager Alan Pardew left to West Ham United and Steve Coppell not been given a chance to view the club's up and coming youngster's.

Campbell has been highly tipped for a great future at the club and has been on trial with the biggest club in the world, Manchester United.
