Walsall supporter and music giant Pete Waterman has spoken of his side's 3-2 victory over Reading in the 2nd Division play-off final back in May 2001 to the football magazine Four-Four-Two.

He is famous for being on Pop Idol and for having 200 hits with some of the country's best bands. But Walsall fan Pete Waterman has something to say about the Royals. When interviewed for the May issue of the football magazine 4-4-2, he revealed his favourite Walsall moment was the 3-2 play-off victory against Reading back in Cardiff in May 2001. Waterman told the magazine

"Going to Cardiff for the play-off final in 2001. The football was pretty average, but it was a great, great day. Reading thought they were up - their fans weren't even antagonising us, it was a foregone conclusion."

Your right Pete, the football was average but we didn't think we were up. Turning point in the game was the tactical switch made by former Saddlers boss Ray Graydon.

Maybe Pete should keep his opinion's to himself, and focus on music. Besides, you beat us fair and square in 2001 but it was even better beating you guys in your own back yard in August 2002.
