John Salako has blasted the board after the club went back on their word of promising the veteran winger a contract. If Salako played more then 25 games then he will be given a one-year extension to his contract. The club have now said that he must scrap this or not play again for the club. Salako, 35 may now have to look to find a new club as it looks like his time at the Madejski Stadium is over. As expected nothing on the official website about it but it has been published in many of the national newspapers today.

Despite his age Salako has played a big part under manager Steve Coppell and has produced some very good displays. He played in Reading's draw with Crystal Palace at the weekend and scored the equaliser in midweek at Preston in Reading's defeat. Steve Coppell has stated the situation is out of his hands and it is up to the board to make these decisions. It would be a cruel blow to Salako who will struggle to find a team as well up in the table in Division One and may have to play in Division 2.

More news should be available on the matter soon but it is unknown whether the club will say anything about the matter.
