I am a loyal Royal. I have heard criticism of the crowd; in the press, on the radio and in the stadium.
Like many others I have agreed with the criticism that we could make more noise to back the boys. Like many others I haven't done much about it.
It's easy to criticise, more difficult to do something about it. If we want to raise our game and motivate the team to the top of the league then it's up to the fans to take the lead on this.
I believe that, for a start, we need a new Reading team song, better specific songs for the players and a crowd that is more willing and able to sing.
I am willing to put time and effort into making this happen. I have some professional experience to offer in training, motivation and building involvement. What I need is some support in getting other real fans involved.
You can help in 3 ways right now
1. By sending me your ideas on a new (or revived) team song. I will try to get the media interested on a competition on this.
2. By sending me details of any existing Reading songs - especially for the players. I will capture these for the web and for a possible songsheet.
3. By volunteering to help - if you think you can help raise the crowd, distribute songsheets or help in any other way please let me know.
You can send me your ideas on readingsongs@btconnect.com or call me on 0118
988 0149.
We have all seen the problem now let's be active in beginning the solution.
