Danish winger Jesper Gronkjaer will fly out to seal a move to Spanish club Atletico Madrid in the next few days after blues agree a fee with Atletico. Gronkjaer will leave the Midlands after just six months after failing to win over the fans.

Danish winger Jesper Gronkjaer has today been told he can discuss terms with Spanish La Liga side Atletico Madrid after Atletico agreed a deal with Birmingham City for the wide mans services.

Gronkjaer will leave blues after just six months with the Denmark international failing to settle in the Midlands. The ex-Chelsea and Ajax man has been subject to the St Andrews boo boys after being accused of not always giving 100% effort when wearing the royal blue.

Gronkjaer signed for blues in a £2.5m deal in the Summer of this year from Chelsea but it is believed blues have paid the London club just 600k of the deal with the rest of it being based on appearances, and success at Birmingham. The Atletico deal is believed to be around the £1m mark so it seems blues will not lose out on any money from the transfer.

Gronkjaer will leave the club having scored just one goal in the league cup game against Lincoln and will be best remembered for the bit of skill he performed in the live TV game away to Bolton Wanderers. From everyone at BluenosesOnline.com we wish Jesper all the best in Spain.
