25-year-old Gavin Strachan, who has scored five league goals for the club this season following his release from Coventry City in the summer, has signed a new deal with the club.

Hartlepool United midfielder Gavin Strachan has agreed a new deal with the Nationwide Division Two side.

"It's great that Gavin has signed this new deal," manager Neale Cooper told the club's official website.

"He has shown what a good player he is so far this season and I still think there is more to come from him.

"I've said that players who do well will be rewarded and Gavin falls in to that category because his form has been excellent."
