Alan Shearer has said that he is 99 percent certain that next season will be his last and he'll finish his career at St. James' Park.

Speaking to L'Equipe Shearer had this to say:

"It is 99 percent certain that next season will be my last."

"But if I am in the same situation as today, leading the top scorers' chart and still playing at my best, perhaps there will be a few doubts."

"But I am almost certain to stop."

"I am starting to pass my coaching badges. Perhaps one day I will be a manager. Where or when, I don't know."
