10 man Kidderminster Harriers beat high flying Huddersfield in a close game at Aggboro today. Harriers held out for a dramatic win,with murderer namesake ref Micheal Ryan certainly guilty again

Breif report

Harriers boss Jan Molby made changes after the defeat to Carlisle with Abdou Sall's recall the biggest surpise. Harriers took the lead on the 1/2 hour. After one corner was cleared for another, Skipper Wayne Hatswell headed home powerfully from Burtons flag kick.

Then things went horribly wrong for Kidder. Ian Foster chased a long ball into the corner with the Huddersfield full back. It appeared that Fozzie was onstructed as the defender jumped in to block him off. What followed could only be desbribed as hand bags. Fozzie did raise his arm and was duly sent off. Maybe the decison was correct but perhaps if the ref had got the decision right in the 1st place then it may not have happened. I'm sure his decison was influenced by the large Terriers support packed in behind the goal. hfair enough but if 1500 or so can make your mind up for you, dont go any higher.

As expected Huddersfield came back into the game and hit the bar with a header but Harriers held out for the lead until half time.

The expected onslaught didnt really materialise as 10 men Harriers battled hard and Town had few esasy chances. Harriers doubloed their lead when a fine run by SImon Brown was turned into his own net by LLoyd. Even at 2-0 the game didnt look safe and with the ref giving Kidder nothing it was like 10 men playing 12. There was anopther flashpoint when Yates was foulewd with a 2 foot challenge. Ryan bizzarly only booked the Terriers man and even more bizzarly booked Yates and gave no foul. Without doubt he was inept and poor, the standard league ref.

The Terriers still kept fighting away but the Harriers held frim into the last 10 minutes. Then Town got a goal back when Sall headed into his own net under pressure. Then everyone expected a Terriers equaliser and probably a winner but Harriers just about held on despite some intense pressure late on. Harriers now move up to 50 points.
