Harriers season looks better after Saturdays 4-1 thrashing of York at Aggboro. This made it 2 home wins in a row. Next up is a free admission friendly with Hereford followed by 2 away games.

Well firstly apologies for no match report on the fine home win over York. Just to refresh your memories, Harriers moved up the table with goals from Ian Foster (a converted penalty at last), Dean Bennett, returnee Mark Yates and the impressive Adam Murray. York’s only reply came from another penalty, which was saved by Stuart Brock but the rebound was turned back in and headed home. One good thing was that Harriers managed to name an unchanged team from the Northampton victory. The maximum return from the last 2 games have given Harriers fans hope that relegation can be avoided. Just another 3 wins and that should guarantee safety.

Harriers now face an away double header travelling to Orient on Saturday and Scunthorpe next Tuesday. Hopefully we can get something out of these fixtures as both teams are stuck in mid table. Left back Scott Stamps will be suspended for the Orient game and Harriers boss Jan Molby has indicated that he may bring in a replacement for that fixture. Harriers are also boosted by the news that they are able to sign one more loan player. Harriers had sued up their allocation of 8 but now it transpires that Adam Murray’s loan is now void as he has signed permanently. Before that Harriers have arranged a friendly against local rivals Hereford United tomorrow night (March 10th, kick off 7.30pm.). it is anticipated that many of Harriers returning injured and fringe players will get a game. These should include Abdou Sall, Bo Henriksen, Lee Jenkins, John Danby and Rob Betts amongst others and Harriers should include some trialists. I’m not sure of admission details so please check on the official site.

So all in all, things look a bit better now. Tonight sees a few games involving teams around us, so our position may change from our current loft position of 15th. Hers hoping for those 9 points as soon as possible, so we can all relax a little and enjoy our footie more. It would be nice to obtain the 3rd required victory to reach 50 points with our next home game against Macclesfield, who currently lie in the drop zone alongside Carlisle.
