Harriers finally exited this seasons FA Cup with a 2-0 defeat to Wolves. Harriers did their best and pushed the Prem strugglers all the way but eventually lost. Still, some money has been made, which is important, maybe next season we;ll have another run and get a glamour club, and make even more

So that’s the FA Cup over with for another year, as Harriers bowed out of the competition to Wolves at Molinuex. Kenny Miller scored once and then was wrongly awarded a 2nd as Wolves just did enough to get past us. Not much else to say really, we didn’t really test them, neither did they really test us, it was a poor game really. Now its back to both clubs relegation battles. Hopefully our new signings plus maybe more arrivals can get us safe. It’s the same for Wolves as they still lie bottom of the Prem. Basically Dave Jones has got until the end of the month to make some vital signings, for in the Prem the transfer window closes on 31st January. From the three times that I’ve seen Wolves this season, new signings are essential.

Anyway it will be nice to get back to the League on Saturday as Harriers take on Darlington. The FA Cup was enjoyable but not as good as I thought it was going to be. Basically we made a bit of money and the profile of the club was raised, that was the main thing. We battled hard and at times outclassed Wolves, which was pleasing although we didn’t threaten their goal enough. Plus the main thing missing was luck, especially in the replay. We needed it but Wolves got it, although they have been heard to say that they would have preferred to save their luck for the League campaign. To be honest, and with due respect, they will need it in bucketloads to avoid relegation with their current squad. Not sour grapes, just the truth. My only sour grapes is that as the bigger club they could have shown the respect to us, the underdog, after all they must know how it feels every week. I was hoping for a bit of applause at the end of the replay, in the same way that the big clubs do to cup battlers but it wasn’t forthcoming.

Harriers V Darlo

Harriers entertain Darlington on Saturday in a must win game. Darlo, who lie 2nd from bottom arrive in a very poor state on and off the field. Their controversial chairman George Reynolds has recently resigned and is apparently owed £15 million by the club.

Lets hope we can get back to winning ways and the new lads, Murray and Jesper can get amongst the goals, although all of our players are welcome to join in. It looks like Lee Jenkins could be able to return on Saturday, according to the official site. The former Swansea man has recovered from his knee injury.

New Poll

The result of the poll to whether we could be Wolves was a 50-50 heat between yes and a narrow defeat.The new poll asks which is the best stadium we have been lucky enough to visit. My vote goes to Ipswich. For any Darlo fans reading the poll, please note the title I have given your ground. With whats gone on, I thought you may appriciate me not calling it by its official name, after all, it is your(Darlo's) ground.

Finally can I just pass on my condolonces to Harriers defender Adie Smith, whose mother passed away this week. Despite this tragedy Adie still put in a sterling display against the Wolves. Of course, such events make this game of football rather trivial.
