50 pts club

39 points to safety

Following the win over Carlisle, Harriers are basically about 39 points from safety. Heres an idea to help the club and its quite easy and straight forward.

THE 50 POINTS CLUB

Lets be honest, the first aim of Kidderminster Harriers every season is survival. This is not to be negative but realistic, anything after that is a bonus. I’m sure you would agree with me on that. I often think of idea which would help the club, some are not practical and would need a lot of work and then might not work.

This idea is quite simple and everyone can join in and more importantly there are no set rules. The idea is simple:

For every point Harriers win this season set aside a set amount of money for that single point.

When (and if, hopefully) the Harriers reach that magical 50 points barrier(which should be enough for safety) give that money to the Harriers.

So that’s the basic idea. It could work in a few ways.

INDIVIDUAL

Set aside a small amount for every point we win, there is no rules, it could be 10p a point or £1.00 a point(or more if you can afford it). Keep the money to one side or even in a bank account until the magical barrier is reached. Then either give it the club as a donation or spend it on the club, ideally something extra you wouldn’t normally do or buy.

For example, if you put 10p away, then you could spend £5.00 in the club shop. There would be no rules, no minimum and it would be up to you. You would only give what you could afford.

GROUPS

You could get a group of you to set up a fund, doing as above. If there was ten of you giving a pound for a point then that could raise £500. not that you could afford to give it the club. For that amount you could get a executive box for a game or sponsor 3 players for next season. Ideally it would be something you wouldn’t normally do and therefore would be extra income for the club. You could rope your family and friends in, maybe even people who don’t go to the Harriers. Junior fans could get their parents to join.

BUSINESS

Maybe the club could get business’s involved as well. Obviously then they would have to set a minimum amount. Its up to them, its only an idea.

Simple isn’t it. why not start now ? get a pot and put some money in. We have 11 points so far so work it out what you can afford. After all it will still be your money at the end and then just spend it on the club. You could have a box for a game or an executive match ticket, buy items from the club shop, put it in a Harriers Saver Account at the West Bromwich Building Society. You could even spend it on alcohol ! A group could book a function at the Aggborough Suite or you could just go out in the Harriers Arms for the night.

I know it might be daft but its just an idea, and the beauty of it is you set the rules and there is no membership for the club to work out. Its just up to you.

Just think:

If everyone who went to Aggboro did it and put in 10p a point that would be about 10 grand (2000x £5). Obviously some people would save more. If 100 did it with a pound a point that’s £5000.

Maybe the club could give you a mention if you donated it or had a box or something. Perhaps the players might join in as well.
