Harriers face West Bromwich Albion this Saturday as the trialists continue to try and impress Manager Ian Brittain. The game also sees former Kidder striker, Lee Hughes return to Aggborough.

This Saturday(26th July) Harriers take on local big boys West Bromwich Albion at Aggborough. So far Kiddie remain unbeaten in the friendly campaign but this will be another stern test after Mondays draw with Leicester City.

On the team front, Harriers have let two of the many trialists go. Eliot Paschalis and Mark Danks have been told there is no future for them at Aggborough. This leaves John Williams, Kyle Lightbourne, Kenny Coleman, Narada, Adam Willis, and Craig Wilding battling for a contract. It is difficult for us fans to tell who to keep and to be fair most of them have impressed in some ways so far. Of course the other thing to bear in mind is more players coming in. obviously some will be on trial, like the aforementioned, at bigger clubs, and maybe let go. This is when we may get a chance with some of them trying their luck with us. One things for sure, Britt wont be signing all of them. Two players are now carrying injuries, new boy Matt Gadesby and keeper, John Danby.

Onto the Baggies and the one player all us Kiddy fans will be looking forward to seeing again is former Kiddy Favourite Lee Hughes. Lee had a poor season last year by his standards, and only scored once, against Wigan in the League Cup. So may be wish the Ginger Ninja all the best for the new season. Albion have added to their squad, Bernt Haas arriving from Sunderland (nice name), James O Conner from Stoke City and Rob Hulse from Crewe Alexandra. They are also trying to get a work permit for Sakira (I could be wrong with this one) or is it Shakira-“wherever-whenever!”. He was the guy who scored for Macedonia from that corner.

So all to look forward to on Saturday and I would imagine the Albion bringing down quite a few as they have in previous years. Not sure what the ground arrangements will be, would be worth checking on the official site tomorrow or we will update you if possible. One thing is known, the admission, which is £10 adults, £5 OAP £2 Under 16. See you all at Aggborough.
