Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks set to make his comeback from injury on Monday as the United reserves host Liverpool. The 32-year-old, European Cup winner in 1999, has not pulled on his boots for 18 months. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks set to make his long-anticipated Manchester United comeback on Monday as the reserves take on Liverpool.

The Norwegian international, a legend amongst supporters, has not made a first-team appearance for 18 months but is now thought to be on the comeback trail having spent a frustrating spell on the sidelines with damaged cruciate ligaments.
"Ole should start or play against Liverpool on Monday. On Tuesday he hadn't trained with the first team at all but now he has and he looked absolutely terrific." said Sir Alex Ferguson, who had previously remained cool on talk of Solskjaer’s comeback.
His last appearance for the club was as a substitute during United’s 3-0 F.A Cup triumph over Millwall. He earned him 61st cap for Norway days later against Wales, but has not played professional football since.

The Kristiansund-born star has continued to fight against his injury despite the fact that first-team football will be very difficult to come by. The club have helped Solskjaer, who has spent nearly a decade at Old Trafford, with his fight against injury as he hopes to emulate the form that saw him net the winning goal in the 1999 European Cup final.

Monday’s game is at the Hyde FC's Ewen Fields stadium with a 7pm kick-off.
