Malouda Reveals United Interest

Lyon star Florent Malouda has revealed Manchester United expressed an interest in his services over the summer, but is focusing on his job in Lyon at the moment. Ruud van Nistelrooy has reiterated his intentions to stay at Old Trafford despite tempting links to La Liga giants Barcelona and Real


The 25-year-old France international midfielder was a key figure in Lyon's side last season, which included Michael Essien, as they went on to lift the French league title.

He confirmed: "There was an interest from Manchester United. But my option at the moment is not to favour a foreign move - it is not the right moment.

"At the moment I don't want to be disturbed with that. I will take stock after the first round of Champions League. If I have choices to make, I will make them in time.

"If I am not happy anymore at Lyon, I will tell you," he concluded.
