Paul McShane has attracted the interest of League One outfit Swindon Town as Robins boss Andy King looks to reinforce his defence this summer with the youngster.

King confirmed he has held talks with Sir Alex Ferguson regarding a possible loan switch to The Country Ground following an impressive loan stint with Walsall.

The 19-year-old Republic of Ireland youth international is also wanted by a host of other clubs from both League One and the Championship.

"He is a player I like and I have spoken to Sir Alex Ferguson about him with the possibility that he may join us on loan," stated King.

"I need a centre back and he could fit the bill but the boy has other options available to him at this stage."

Sir Alex Ferguson has shown faith in his young defender by including him in a depleted squad that traveled America last year and even appeared against Celtic in a pre-season friendly.
