Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has indicated he's looking to reinforce his squad with experience following the singing of young players in recent years.

Speaking at the press conference for new 24-year-old signing from PSV Eindhoven, Park Ji Sung, Ferguson suggested he could look to bring in some experience to balance the squad.

"There is always the question of identification, the question of 'what do we need?'" Ferguson pondered. 

"We’ve introduced some young players in recent years and the age of the squad is very good at the moment. There's a great nucleus of youth at the club; Smith, Park, Fletcher, Ronaldo, Rooney, O’Shea — they are all young players."

Despite the signing of Holland international goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar and the presence of Roy Keane, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs in the squad, Ferguson deems it sensible to search for experience.  

"I would think we are talking about someone experienced to improve us. But finding that player is not easy."
