A superb hat-trick from Michael Owen rounded off England's mini-tour of America with another win to cap off Saturday's 2-1 win over the USA in Chicago.

Sven Goran Eriksson's man moved east to New York to take on a Colombia outfit looking to pick up points in order to qualify for the World Cup in their upcoming qualifying fixtures, but Michael Owen's collection of goals deprived the South Americans of a win as England won 3-2.

Like in Chicago, a number of players made their Three Lions debut including Southampton striker Peter Crouch and Norwich goalkeeper Robert Green.

However, Real Madrid's Michael Owen stole the show as he rounded off the victory constructed by a young and inexperienced England side.

Owen's first came courtesy of Joe Cole's through ball when he latched onto the ball and floated it over hapless Mondragon. The former Liverpool frontman added a second following debutant Peter Crouch's intelligent early ball.

The feeble England defence stood still to watch Yepes' header somehow reach the back of the net to see out an eventful first half.

Robert Green made his first England appearance in the second-half, replacing David James as Michael Owen secured his hat-trick, converting David Beckham's precise cross.

Ramirez's deflected shot proved a mere consolation for Columbia.

United's Phil Neville played the full 90 minutes at right-back and switched into midfield towards the end as tired legs gave way. Kieran Richardson earned his second England cap in the latter parts of the second period. Alan Smith replaced the hat-trick hero late on.
