Six Youngsters Axed by United

Manchester United have not hesitated to release a six of their youngsters as Sir Alex Ferguson, Brain McClair and Ricky Sbragia looks set to reform the Reserve and Youth teams.

Ramon Calliste, Daniel Nardiello, Ben Collett, David Poole, Lee Lawrence and Paul Tierney were the six unfortunate players given marching orders by the Red Devils.

More are expected to follow in the next few days despite the Reserve team picking up the Premier Reserve League title and the Pontins League Cup this term.

Welshman Ramon Calliste is being eyed by a number of clubs from across the United Kingdom. Scottish outfit Hearts have expressed interest in the forward and former Wales manager Mark Hughes is eager to get his fellow countryman on the books of Blackburn Rovers.

Striker Daniel Nardiello, pictured, has spent some time at League One side Barnsley on loan recently and are likely to begin talks over a possible deal with the Tykes.

Midfielder Paul Tierney has been trying to capture the eye of United by going on loan to Crewe, Colchester and Bradford in recent seasons, but could not make the grade.

United will also help Ben Collett, David Poole and Lee Lawrence to find new clubs.
